RAMALHO WATERFALL
Cachoeira do Ramalho is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in Minas Gerais. With its height of more than 132 meters, is the best known waterfall in Santa Bárbara do Tugúrio and in the Campo das Vertentes region. Surrounded by exuberant nature where the only noise you can hear is the force of the water hitting the rocks and birds singing, it is a place of dazzlement.
The origin of the name Ramalho is not historically known. Some say it is a reference to this beautiful region of the city with its elevated dirt roads that provide extraordinary views of Santa Bárbara. Others claim that it is the surname of a family that owned the land where the waterfall is today. There are still those who claim it to be an allegory to"João Ramalho". Owner of land in the city, they say, that every year on Santa Bárbara's day after having some"caiaba"sang verses along the great waterfalls.
All guests of the Pousada who venture to discover this beauty return dazzled by the majesty of the waterfall, even if they have already seen bigger ones.
