AMANDA WATERFALL

Cachoeira da Amanda em Santa Bárbara do Tugúrio em Minas Gerais a partir da Pousada & Parada Olhos D'água

The Amanda Waterfall is a waterfall in Santa Bárbara do Tugúrio in Minas Gerais and is part of the circuit of seven waterfalls in the Sumidouro Valley. In addition to their impressive height, the rocks formed a shell behind the waterfall with the pressure of the water, that is, it is possible to stand behind the "shower" of the waterfall almost without getting wet.

The name of the waterfall, legend has it, originates from a bride in the city who was called Amanda and was asked to marry her on the spot. The legend however does not explain whether the bride accepted the request. Old residents of the region say that it is common to see a wedding dress if you look at the waterfall for a long time.
