Cachoeira Alta em Santa Bárbara do Tugúrio em Minas Gerais

Cachoeira Alta is a small and intimate waterfall in Santa Bárbara do Tugúrio in Minas Gerais, supplied with water from the Riacho Santa Isabel das Fontes.

Two local stories explain the name of the waterfall: the first says that it originates from a farm that was  on the site in distant times that was known as Fazenda do Alto. The second story tells that the origin of the name is because it was seen from the top from  from Estrada Fazenda do Alto, when people said: "look at the waterfall at the top". It became known as Cachoeira Alta despite not having more than  11 meters high.
